Voice of Transition are returning to the Adelaide Fringe Festival in 2015 with a salute to Motown.

Rust & Vinyl is another scintillating spectacle for the eyes, ears and soul. Voice of Transition will take you on a musical journey through Motown’s humble beginnings in the gospel and blues traditions, taking a pit-stop at its golden days, and discovering its ever-present influence today. From The Temptations to the Four Seasons, Michael Jackson to Bruno Mars, and The Supremes to the Spice Girls – Rust & Vinyl is a show for all generations.

Now in a larger new venue, overlooking the river Torrens on a beautiful summer’s night, Voice of Transition are ready to sign, seal and deliver Motown in way you have never heard it before.

A bit about our director:

Kim Spargo has worked professionally as lead vocalist in all genres of music. Kim has had lead roles in musical theatre productions; recorded demo tracks for local and internationally produced music; worked with many Adelaide choirs; and has also been in Opera Australia and State Opera of SA productions. Kim is also the voice behind The Collected Musicians.

Voice of Transition, together with Kim Spargo, will perform two 40-minute sets from 7:00pm.

Did we mention there will be Fireworks?

See you there!

It’s time to catch up!

Fack to Bront [2012]

Last you heard from us on this blog, we were gearing up for our 2012 Adelaide Fringe show, Fack to Bront. Due to circumstances beyond our control, this show actually took place in the 2012 Cabaret Fringe Festival later in the year, at the Nexus Cabaret Club in the Lion Arts Centre. With a fresh twist on some musical theatre classics, the show was a hit. Audience favourites included the Diva Medley; I Know Where I’ve Been; and Singing in the Rain. This show also marked the departure of our much beloved accompanist and co-founder, Tim Haslam.

So Fresh [2013]

Our next show, So Fresh, featured in the 2013 Adelaide Fringe, once again at the Nexus Cabaret Club. For this show we recalled some of our favourite childhood jams to bring the audience a 90’s fuelled spectacle, accompanied by Mitchell Bartel. From Britney to Whitney, we had the 90’s covered. Crowd favourites included Ironic; How Will I Know; and Will You Be There.

Ripple [2014]

Our most recent show, in the 2014 Adelaide Fringe, Ripple, was all about choices. Back at our old favourite, the Nexus Cabaret Club, and accompanied by the talented Matthew Carey, Ripple ran for four very successful shows. We drew on our own experiences to present the audience with our most intimate show yet. Sharing our personal stories allowed the audience a new opportunity to get to know the Voice of Transition members.

What’s next?

We’re currently conceptualising our show for the 2015 Adelaide Fringe, and starting some exciting new arrangements. Stay tuned to this blog for the latest news on Voice of Transition. You can also ‘like’ us on Facebook to keep up-to-date.
